Designed as an CPM upgrade to conventional Cru-Wear and D2, it offersbetter wear resistance, much greater toughness and higher attainable hardness. Both D2 and CPM CRU-WEAR contain carbides for wear resistance, but CPM CRU-WEAR has more vanadium carbides than D2.

I also know the PM2 is a far better slicer than the 940, but the 940 is an awesome working blade. Seems like most people say S90V is incredibly brittle though. WebThanks. If you want to care for it less, get S45. - CruWear : tougher, better edge retention, but less rust resistant. Sharpening +++. - S45VN : less maintenance regarding to rust, but less tough and hard.

Z-max=Maxamet. You’ve got the right idea. Z-wear = CPM Cru-wear. PD#1 ≈ CPM Cru-wear. Z-max has less C, Cr, Co, W, and V than Maxamet. Z-max also has 5% Mo while Maxamet has none.
